Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026. Your data stays yours — here is exactly what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
1. What we collect
We collect the information you give us (name, email, phone number, password, profile details), information needed for tasker verification (government ID number and type), booking information (services, dates, addresses), payment information handled by our payment processor, and technical information such as device and usage data to keep the platform secure.
2. How we use it
We use your information to run the marketplace: creating accounts, verifying taskers, processing bookings and payments, facilitating communication between customers and taskers, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, and improving our services.
3. Payments
Card payments are processed by licensed payment providers such as Paystack. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Bank details used for tasker payouts are stored securely and only used for disbursements.
4. What we share
We share limited information between customers and taskers as needed for a job to happen — for example, a tasker sees the booking address, and a customer sees the tasker’s verified name and phone number. We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We share data with service providers (payments, SMS, email) who are bound to protect it.
5. Verification data
Tasker identity information is used solely to confirm identity and may be checked against official records. We retain only what is needed for compliance and security.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. You may request deletion at any time.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your personal data, and you can ask us to stop processing it for specific purposes. Contact hello@handiwa.com to exercise these rights.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, restricted access controls and continuous monitoring to protect your data. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.
9. Children
The platform is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
